| dc.description.abstract | Purpose: The purpose of the study was to find the physiotherapists’ view of gynecological physiotherapy scope of practice in Bangladesh. Objectives: To know the idea of physiotherapists in gynecological physiotherapy. Scope of practice for physiotherapists in gynecological physiotherapy. Future recommendation for the development of gynecological physiotherapy practice in Bangladesh. Methodology: A mixed study design was chosen to complete the study. For quantative question cross sectional study design was chosen with self -administered questionnaire. 79 data was collected from different hospitals and organizations of Dhaka district. Data analysis: Quantative data was analyzed by using SPSS 20.0. Qualitative content analysis was used to analyze the data. Results: 61 participants answered the questions related to gynaecological physiotherapy and 18 participants didn’t answer all these questions. 89.9% of the participants studied gynaecological physiotherapy in their under graduation level. All of the participants were agreed that gynaecological physiotherapy is important for women’s health. 53.2% of the participants faced problem while treating any gynaecological condition due to lack of proper knowledge, training session and guideline. 85.71% of the participants suggested that improvement of referral system, more training session and evidence based practice is needed for the further development of gynaecological physiotherapy service in Bangladesh. 41.8% of the participants said that the scope of practice for physiotherapists in gynecological physiotherapy was fair. A significant association (p=.000) had found in between patient’s motivation and their feedback. Conclusion: This study is a reflection of physiotherapists’ view about gynaecological physiotherapy practice in Bangladesh. This is also the first study where physiotherapists’ view is seen on gynaecological physiotherapy practice. Key words: Physiotherapist, Gynaecological physiotherapy, Scope of practice | en_US |
