Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of this study was, to assess the therapeutic effectiveness of Tilt Manipulation in Sacro-Iliac Joint with conventional physiotherapy treatments among patients with low back pain. Objectives: To assess the effect on pain after introducing Tilt Manipulation Sacro iliac Joint Dysfunction, to measure the severity of pain by using Numeric Pain Rating Scale, to find out the effect of pain at rest after introducing tilt manipulation, to identify the severity of pain during standing after introducing tilt manipulation, to identify the severity of pain during long time standing (more than 10 minute) after introducing tilt manipulation, to find out the effect of pain at 6 minute walking test after introducing tilt manipulation. Methodology: The study was an experimental design. Total 10 samples were selected conveniently then randomly assigned to two different groups for this study from outpatient of Musculoskeletal Unit, Physiotherapy Department, and Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP), Savar, Dhaka. Numeric pain rating scale was used to assess pain intensity of the patients. Experimental Group received combination therapy of Tilt Manipulation with conventional physiotherapy while control group received conventional physiotherapy only. Result: The finding of the study was carried out by using non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test to compare the experimental and control group and analysed by interpreting the probability level of significance of U value. The results were found to be significant for U value at probability level 0.05. There were four variables in this study. Pain at resting position have beneficial effect where U=2.5, and observed pvalue (p<.05); pain at standing position U=1.5, and observed p value(p<.05); pain at long time standing position U=7, and observed p value (p<.05); pain at six minute walking test U=3, and observed p value (p<.05). Conclusion: The study concluded as the Tilt Manipulation is significantly capable of producing beneficial effects on pain reduction, pain related symptoms minimization in patients with Sacro-iliac Joint Dysfunction.
