dc.description.abstract The research title is “Cultural barriers to provide clinical Occupational Therapy service in Bangladesh: Therapists perception”. The purpose of this study is to find out occupational therapists perception regarding the cultural barriers at the time of providing clinical occupational therapy service in Bangladesh. The objectives of the study were to explore the therapist‟s perception regarding cultural barriers to provide occupational therapy intervention, to find out the challenges cultural barrier of occupational therapist during practice in Activity of Daily Living with clients and to find out the challenging cultural barrier of occupational therapist during providing assistive device. The study was a qualitative content analysis design of qualitative methodology to collect in-depth information from the participant‟s perception. A semi structured questionnaire has been used for data collection and 9 participants were in interviewed by it. Purposive sampling procedure was used to select the participants. The findings of the study indicated that cultural issues greatly hamper the occupational therapy intervention in Bangladesh. Most of the participants were mention that without having adequate knowledge of different cultural phenomena in Bangladesh the occupational therapy professionals should not provide the successful treatment to the patient. Because of different form of cultural diversify challenges and different cultural identity affected on occupational therapy intervention. On the other hand social superstation also plays an important role to emerge the cultural barrier for occupational therapists. It is to be added that the findings of the study are clarify that the surrounding physical and cultural environment of the patients creates barrier for occupational therapist to provide assistive device. In these circumstances the occupational therapists are usually recommended to considering the favor and respect the cultural issue. Finally it is to be concluded that occupational therapists should have achieved all the cultural issues of different people to perform their Excellency in the field of occupational therapy intervention. en_US
