dc.description.abstract Background: ADHD is a common mental health issue, and it gains global attention for its impact on children’s academic, social and emotional wellbeing. This research helps the occupational therapist to know about the parental perception of behavioral characteristics of children with ADHD. However, the student researcher explores in this area because it is less focus in the context of Bangladesh. Aim: To explore the behavioral characteristics of children with ADHD in Bangladesh from parental Perception. Method: The study followed a cross-sectional quantitative design. Data were collected through a face-to-face survey among 50 parents of children with ADHD. Vanderbilt ADHD Diagnostic Parent Rating Scale (VARDPRS) was used to determine behavioral characteristics of children with ADHD. SPSS version 25 was used to conduct descriptive analysis and cross tabulation. Result: According to the findings, 50 children with ADHD included in the study, 100% (n=50) exhibited significant symptoms of inattention, 70% (n=35) displayed hyperactive behaviors, 38% (n=19) showed oppositional defiant behaviors and no conduct disorder symptoms were observed. Anxiety was reported in 24% (n=12) of the children, while performance level difficulties were noted in 100% (n=50) participants. Conclusion: The study contributed to a better understanding of the behavioral characteristics of children with ADHD from parental perception.
